Aquatic Therapy

The aquatic physical therapy program at Crane Rehab Center provides care for patients with musculoskeletal and/or neurological conditions. Warm water offers an excellent environment for rehab by allowing muscle relaxation and increasing circulation. Hydrostatic pressure in the water decreases swelling and further improves circulation. The buoyancy of water decreases stress through the joints and the water's resistance helps with muscle strengthening and awareness, as well as challenges balance and coordination in a supported environment.

Conditions that may benefit from aquatic therapy include:

Degenerative changes to the spine and extremities

Osteoarthritis

Post-operative conditions

Sprains and strains

Chronic pain syndromes

Total joint replacements

Back and neck injuries

Balance difficulties
